A little bit kooky & quirky. Always fun and looking on the bright side even if it gets ridiculous!

Europe Trip

I just returned from a 3 city visit to Europe - Budapest, Vienna and Prague.  We did so much walking that I wore out my orthotics.  Well, the monsoon in Vienna helped with their destruction.  In Prague we saw the works of Alfons Mucha, a Czech art nouveau artist who painted 20 gy-normous pieces from 1910-1928.

The one I am standing in front of measures 8 m x 6 m!  The medium is egg tempera and oil on canvas.  And that is only the first of 20.  It is titled 'The Slavs in Their Original Homeland' and depicts Adam and Eve.  Together the 20 pieces are called 'The Slav Epic'.

You can see the 20 pieces here, but the impact is limited to the size of your computer screen!  Mucha Foundation.  Also National Art Center Tokyo
