Part of my day was spent organizing a group of paintings to be taken to Different Strokes Art Gallery in Olds, Alberta. Drop by and say hello to Debbie or Carla.  They are a hoot!

My 2nd Alberta Flood Rose

This 2nd contribution to "The Alberta Flood Rose Project" is done in acrylic and copper leaf.  It will join hundreds of other Alberta Roses produced by Alberta artists and auctioned off with proceeds going to help those in southern Alberta who were affected by the June 20th flood.

The Alberta Flood Rose Project

"The flood waters rose... Albertans rose to the challenge!

The Alberta Flood Rose Project invites all Calgary and area visual artists to create an original 4"x4" (inch) piece of wall art, depicting the provincial flower of Alberta, the wild rose.  The finished pieces will be arranged in groups of 100, and framed as a larger piece.  After being on display in a public location during the month of August, the framed art pieces will be up for auction at the end of August, 2013 with all proceeds to go to the Red Cross for flood relief."

In The Wind

I think this is a rather spicy Southern Alberta contemporary landscape. You can feel the sun and heat on your neck.  You can see the grain floating in the breeze.
