A little bit kooky & quirky. Always fun and looking on the bright side even if it gets ridiculous!

Abstract Circles

While the 1st of the new abstract circle paintings had more pink in it, this 2nd painting is more on the blue side of things with just a dab or two of silver leaf peeking out.

Morning Sunshine

If this isn't kooky and quirky and whimsical, I don't know what is!  My talented sister knit this teapot cozy from a FREE pattern on Ravelry.  Go here: Free Ravelry Teapot Cozy Pattern

Floral Field

So, funny story. . .

'Floral Field' was on exhibit at Jayne Creighton's 'Surface Works' art show this weekend.  Unfortunately, it accidentally picked up some black oil paint smudges on 2 sides from another artist's piece.  Not good.  Artist Barry Lorne (look him up) conferred with me on the problem of how to remove the oil smudges and I was all set to pick up my painting this morning and rectify the situation using various means.  (I since found out Barry also did a little searching later on what to do and I do appreciate the time he took to help me.)

When I called Jayne this morning to arrange pickup she said the smudges were gone.  Thanks to the expertise of fellow artist Brittney Lintick (look her up) those smudges miraculously disappeared using a common substance we all have.  She and Jane went at my painting with resolve, Qtips and spit! Problem solved in 5 minutes.  Britney says she has had this problem before and knew exactly what to do.  I love the generosity of both artists and the host of the show who all had my back.

And just to give the story an even happier ending, the painting sold!  I've always loved this one and  I was not so patiently waiting for it to get a new home.   Done.

Devoting My Life to Serving My Peeps

This painting is the 2nd larger piece in the 'Line of Royalty' series. I also completed 2 smaller ones I'll post at a later date.

This Royal is:
- standing on guard for thee.
- serving and protecting.
- answering only to the public
- and fiercely standing for whatever other cliche you can throw out there.

20x20
mixed media-acrylic, paper, gold leaf.
$600 unframed (+ shipping)

The Pompous Jester

This piece is larger than the previous 'Line of Royalty' paintings.  It's 20x20.

This guy is carrying on the pompousness of his smaller brothers and sisters, but the joke may be on him.  Is he the king or does he look more like the jester?

20x20 on regular 3/4 inch canvas
mixed media - acrylic, paper, gold and copper leaf
$600 unframed (+ shipping)

New Series? Maybe.

I made several small 5x7 paintings of birds wearing crowns.  I think I'll call the series 'Line of Royalty'.

So far I have 4 of these small ones. The birds are blue and rather pompous looking. Well, really, how can you avoid looking pompous when you puff out your chest like that while wearing a crown?

I popped this one in a little black frame.
